Joan Elizabeth Robson Schick was born April 1, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York to Mae and Fred Maguire who preceded her in death as did her sister Meryl Daley, JoanÃs two husbands W.F. (Bill) Schick, Jr., and Robert W. Robson. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mannford, Oklahoma where for many years she served as pianist, music leader, and performed various other ministries connected with the parish. She was honored in 2001 as the ìWoman of Achievementî elected by the women of the parish. Joan was a past president of Lindberg Elementary P.T.A. in Tulsa and served in other capacities at John Ross, Nathan Hale and Will Rogers High School. She was affiliated with Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, also Pius X, and St. Thomas More, all in Tulsa. After moving to Keystone Lake she organized and led the Westport Senior Citizen Kitchen Band, became active in the Cleveland Community Theater, Cleveland Community Choir and served as historian for the Cleveland ìFriends of the Library.î Joan is survived by a daughter Holly Smith and husband David; a son, Tom R. Schick and wife AnnaRuth; grandchildren, Chris Smith, Wade Schick and wife Misty, Eric Schick and wife Julie, Amy Marie Schick and great-grandson, Cole Thomas Schick, several nieces and nephews in New Jersey, step-sons, Bill and Rob Robson and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan passed away on May 23, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the St John Medical Center at the age of ninety-one years. A Rosary service was conducted on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mannford. Mass of the Christian Burial was led by Father Martin Morgan on Friday, May 25, 2012, also at the Church. Following cremation she will be entombed at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland.
