Joan Branson

Joan Alice Branson passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 87 in Drumright, Oklahoma. Born on September 5, 1937, in Passaic, New Jersey, Joan was the daughter of Frederick Carl and Katherine (Van Hin) Albright. She pursued her education in New Jersey before relocating to Dallas, Texas, followed by a move to Jennings, Oklahoma, and eventually settling in Oilton, Oklahoma.Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother, passionate about caring for others, reading, listening to audio-books, solving puzzles, and tending to animals. She had a deep affection for her pets Desi, Heidi, and Misty, and enjoyed listening to classic country music. Joan was known for her spirited, strong-willed, and compassionate nature.She is survived by her four children: Robert Rood, David Rood, Sandra Kastning, and Patricia Rood; one sister, Donna Rood; three grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sisters, and one daughter.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Chapman-Black Funeral Home, officiated by David Logsdon. Burial will follow at Osage Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
