Jimmy LeRoy Sternbach Sr. better known to friends and family as "Howdy" passed from this life on August 7, 2021, at the age of 79.
Howdy was born on June 30, 1942, at Columbus, Kansas. He was the son of Jacob and Thelma (Holt) Sternbach. Jimmy grew up and attended school in Tulsa later graduating from Central High School. Following high school Howdy attended Tulsa Welding School later gaining employment with Yuba Heat Transfer. During his time there he also owned and operated a gas station on Harvard between Pine and Apache. On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Kathy Darlene Rose in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Howdy later opened Howdy's Salvage in Terlton in 1983 that he operated until 2010.
Howdy loved spending time outdoors with his friends and family especially camping and riding dune buggies. Shooting pool and listening to music was also favorite pastimes. Howdy was also very adamant about letting others know about his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by the way he lived his life. He loved everyone and would always help others in need.
Survivors are his loving wife Kathy of the home; two children Jimmy Sternbach of Terlton, Oklahoma Shelly Dean of Terlton, Oklahoma; one brother David Lybarger of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, sister Susan White of Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandchildren Jimmy, Jessie, Clayton, Jenny, Dusty, Bobby, Lexi; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous others that called him pop or dad.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Thelma Sternbach and two sisters Jerri Hardison and Caroline from New Mexcio.
