Jimmie Dallas Dickson, known to his friends and family as “Fatman,” passed from this life on March 20, 2021, Saturday evening at his home in Osage, Oklahoma, with his family at his side.
Jimmie was born on September 15, 1942, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He was the son of Dell Elzever and Geneva Lucille (Spencer) Dickson. Jim grew up in the old Prue area, where he attended school. As a young man, he would travel with his grandpa and Uncle Orvan Spencer, plowing fields and gardens or any other odd jobs they could find. Later Jim and his brother Curt worked for the Branch Ranch West of Cleveland, plowing fields at night and going to school in the day. On August 13, 1963, Jimmie was united in marriage to Linda Aline Shoemaker. They established their initial home in Prue before moving to Osage in 1975. Jim initially worked for the Prue School District then later accepted employment with Word Industries in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jim worked at Word for over 40 years before he retired from the Local Union 205 Pipefitters.
Jim loved being outdoors working. Working and operating heavy equipment was what he enjoyed. However, what Jim enjoyed the most was being in the hayfield with his brother Mutt. He loved to go camping, especially to Roaring River in Missouri trout fishing. Going and watching his grandson Brad roping were also enjoyable times. One of his favorite memories as a child was during Christmas when his grandpa Spencer would go to town and buy curly hard rock candy.
Survivors include his wife Linda of the home, three daughters Shirley Forrest and her husband Wayne of Osage, Oklahoma, Jamica Albright and her husband Lloyd of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Kathy Pry and her husband Gary of Osage, Oklahoma; brothers Curt Dickson of Prue, Oklahoma, Mutt Dickson of Blackburn, Oklahoma, Butch Dickson and his wife Sandra of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sister Joyce Pendergraft of Jenks, Oklahoma; grandchildren Brad Dickson, Amanda Allen, Brandon Dickson, Brittani Dickson, Briana Dickson, Emily Dickson, Darren Sanders, Jordan Sanders and a multitude of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends that love him dearly. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother Roy Dickson, sister in law Vicki Dickson, three sons Jimmie, Jamie, an infant son, and one grandson, Dennis.
