Jerry Willard Reece of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Mannford, Oklahoma. Jerry was born November 27, 1942 in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was the son of Willard and Erma Louise (Miller) Reece. Jerry began his education in Boston Pool and later began attending school in Cleveland where he graduated with the Class of 1960. During his time in school Jerry was a very active part of the football and baseball team. He earned a scholarship to Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa for his abilities in football and baseball. Following the completion of his education at NOC, Jerry attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He later returned to Cleveland and began working for the Local 798 Pipefitters Union. Jerry started off as a welderÃs helper and soon tested as a certified welder. Jerry worked as a pipefitter throughout the United States, Philippines and Malaysia as well as on the massive Alaskan Pipeline project. In 1997, Jerry retired fully from the Local 798. Not being able to sit at home; Jerry returned to the pipeline as an inspector for several years before retiring completely. Jerry enjoyed living life to the fullest. He also enjoyed going fishing, hunting as well as being an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan. Jerry had a great sense of humor and loved teasing people. Jerry was also a person with a big heart willing to do anything for anyone. Jerry was a former Shriner and 32nd Degree Mason. Survivors are his two sons Ryan Reece and his wife Deedra of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jerry Reece and his wife Kim of Mannford, Oklahoma; one sister Judy Houser of Hominy, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Sarah, Ashton, Rhyne, Rylee, Mason as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his son Charles Reece. Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Brother Doug Dingley officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm. The body will be cremated and later interred in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home
