Jerry Lee Gray was born on January 19, 1941, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Omer C. and Inez LaFaye Gray. Jerry grew up in the Cleveland, Oklahoma area along with his two brothers. He was active in Baseball as a young boy. Jerry attended Cleveland schools and graduated from Cleveland High School.
Jerry spent four years in the US Navy on a destroyer. After receiving an honorable discharge as a Petty Officer Second Class, he returned to the Cleveland area where he married LaZeta Eubank on January 25, 1964, in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the First Nazarene Church. Jerry and LaZeta raised their daughter, Kelly, west of Cleveland, where they enjoyed horses and a few cows.
Jerry spent his career working for Ma Bell, which later became AT&T. He installed and repaired telephone lines. If someone in town had a phone problem, they would call Jerry and he would go fix it for them. He enjoyed fishing, quail hunting, golfing, and bowling; but you would find him many days out on his mower making sure the five acres around his home was precise, with very straight lines. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. He always had a garden. Going to Arkansas to the Buffalo River and camping was always a great adventure the family would take together.
Jerry Lee Gray, 82, passed from this life Friday, December 15, 2023, at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
