Jeremy Davis Brown

In the early morning hours of September 9, 2014, Jeremy Davis Brown left this world at 43 years of age. He was born on January 31, 1971, in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Keesler Air Force Base Hospital to David and Debra Brown. He was the first and only child born of that union. In his early years he lived in Biloxi, Mississippi; Starkville, Mississippi; Salt Lake City, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada; Odessa, Texas; and finally in Bellaire, Texas. He graduated from Bellaire High School in 1989. He obtained his Baccalaureate Degree from the University of Texas at Austin on May 17, 1997. He was granted a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas on July 26, 2003 and sat for the Texas bar shortly thereafter. He was administered the ìAttorney Oathî by the honorable George H. Godwin on August 26, 2006, and thus began his legal career. He practiced primarily in Travis County, Texas, until his death. As he prepared for his entry into the law profession, he held several jobs with the two most interesting being the assistant manager of a bungee jumping park in Galveston and as a Texas licensed private investigator with ACTA investigations in Houston, Texas. Jeremy also had the privilege to clerk for some of the finest family lawyers in the state of Texas. He possessed a true and deep love for the Texas outdoors spending every possible moment involved in some outdoor pursuit in this great state. He especially loved to fish the Texas coastal waters, both inshore and offshore, and to hunt in south and west Texas. Back when it was safe to visit and hunt in Mexico, he never missed an opportunity to hunt white wing dove in Tamaulipas, Mexico. He also accounted for more than a few alligators over the years on the Newman ranch south of Victoria. He loved all things ìTexasîÖ.the history, the outdoors, the wild life, the music, and, most importantly, the people. He was simply one of the most loving, friendly, gregarious, and kind persons to ever walk this great state of ours. He possessed an absolute passion and love for all animals, with a special affinity for labrador retrievers, owning three during his lifeÖîPVSî, ìAbbyî, and ìJune Bugî. He never allowed anyone to abuse an animal in his presence and once had to be physically restrained from striking a man with the same axe handle that the man had been beating a dog with. He was, however, allowed to get in a few whacks on the fellow before he was stopped. He will be missed by all who knew him and the holes that are left in the hearts of his family members and friends by his passing are almost unbearable. He is survived by his Mother, Debra Clark Eckel of Garland, Texas, Father, Marshall Davis Brown Jr. of Bellaire, Texas, Maternal grandmother, Zoe Clark of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Stepmother, The Hon.
