Jason Eric Norman

Jason Eric Norman, 42, of Terlton, Oklahoma, better known to his friends and family as "Goose" passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Jason was born August 30, 1975, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He is the son of Richard Marion Norman and Nancy Jo (Bellar) Norman. Jason grew up in Hobart, Indiana where he attended kindergarten and graduated from Hobart High School with the Class of 1993. During his time growing up, Jason was very active in baseball playing the position as catcher, Jason was also a wrestler winning numerous awards and accolades. Following high school, Jason attended Lincoln Technical which offered hands-on career training programs. Jason learned the trade of Automotive Technology. This allowed him the knowledge to gain employment in Crown Point, Indiana in the local automotive repair centers. In 1999, Jason moved to Stroud, Oklahoma and later began working at Lynn Smith Chevrolet. While working there, he met the love of his life, Amy. On December 19, 2007, Jason was united in marriage to Amy Denise Powell. Jason accepted employment with Sheffield Steel in Sand Springs. During this time Jason began working as one of the plant's maintenance technicians. He continued working there until the closure of the facility. In 2009, Jason gained employment at Borden Dairy of Oklahoma where he was the Industrial Maintenance Engineer.

Jason was an avid outdoorsman. Always loving to hunt, fish and being with his boys and family. Jason also enjoyed the times on the back-porch grilling. During his younger years, he also spent many hours on the Ohio River. Jason liked taking his dogs and kids to the state land near his home which he felt was a way to recharge. Jason and Amy took many trips with the family to Silver Dollar City, going to the lake and to the Keystone Cabins. One of his most memorable fishing trip was to Canada. Most of all in life Jason loved the times spent with his family in the outdoors.

Survivors are his wife Amy of the home, five children Ricky Norman, David Norman, Jared Norman, Tyler Norman and Codey Norman all of Terlton, Oklahoma, father Richard Norman and his wife Bernice of Lake Station, Indiana, mother Nancy Norman of Kouts, Indiana, three siblings Richard Norman of Crescent, Oklahoma, Brian Norman and his wife Stephanie of Kouts, Indiana, Lisa Satterfield of Stigler, Oklahoma as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Jason was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Earl and Ruth Bellar; paternal grandparents Marion and Bertha Norman and one sister Karen Norman.

Funeral services will be held on 11:00 pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with David Logsdon officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, April 30, 2018, from 4 pm till 7 pm at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Jared Norman, David Norman, Ricky Norman, Brian Norman, Rick Norman and Weston Norman. Honorary pallbearers will be Codey Norman, Tyler Norman, Anthony Norman, Brett Norman, Lucas Nicolei and Chase Nicolei.
