Janice M. Price, 66, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed from this life on January 14, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Janice was born on October 14, 1952, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Alfred Madison and Laura Jane (Henderson) Harris. Janice was raised and received her education in Anadarko later graduating from Anadarko High School. Janice was united in marriage to the love of her life Roger Lee Price on February 10, 1968. Following their marriage, Janice remained in Anadarko and Roger went to serve his county in the United States Military. After his return, Janice and Roger established their home in Anadarko until 1973. At that time they moved to El Reno, Oklahoma. In 1978, Janice and Roger moved to Cleveland due to the fact Roger was assigned to this area by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. In 1983, Janice began working at the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office as a secretary. Janice remained in the department for over 35 years and six Sheriffs. Janice was currently the Administrative Deputy Sheriff for Pawnee County.
Janice was a lady with a big heart for everyone. She was a mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Janice was always selfless, dedicated and very loyal to those around her. She enjoyed knitting, baking, and going on the girl’s trips with her friends. Shopping with Gladys were always enjoyable and memorable events. Janice also enjoyed watching rodeo’s especially the bull riding and MMA fights while cheering on her favorite Matt Hughes. She also liked working in the garden and would always help Roger outside with whatever needed to be fixed and was not afraid of hard work. Roger has often said Janice was his number one pal.
Survivors include her husband Roger of the home; two sons Shawn Price and his wife Melinda of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brian Price and his wife Amy of Roland, Oklahoma; one brother Alfred Harris, Jr. and his wife Charlene of Anadarko, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Amber Gough of Ralston, Oklahoma, Noah Price and Gibson Price both of Roland, Oklahoma, Ashley Price of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jesse Price of Bixby, Oklahoma, Trenton Stackhouse of Stillwater, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, January 18, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Terlton, Oklahoma. Rev. Dale Gowdy and Rev. Justin White will be officiating the services. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12:00 pm till 7:00 pm on Thursday at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Woodland Cemetery at Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Janice at www.chapman-black.com.
Pallbearers will include Clint Stout, Mike Water, Monty Johnson, Dave Wamsley, Dewayne Carson, and Dr. Perry Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah and Gibson Price.
