Jania Lee Flager Boone was born December 5, 1943 in Hallett, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Joe Floyd and Mintie (Fowler) Flager. Jania was raised in the Hallett area where she attended school until transferring to Cleveland Schools. Jania graduated from Cleveland High School with the class of 1962 were she was the valedictorian. After graduation from high school, Jania attended Oklahoma State University as a math major. Shortly after graduation, Jania was married to Roy Boone on July 2, 1962 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the home of Rev. W. W. Kirsh. She had one son in 1967, Barry Boone and she survived cancer the same year. Jania lived in Tulsa for three years working for Ozark-Mahoning Company before moving to Sand Springs, and after four years time at home raising her son, she began a nearly thirty-seven year career for Calumet Oil company. While employed with Calumet Oil Company in Tulsa, Jania supervised joint interest billing and oil & gas revenue as well as a host of other duties. The last twenty-five years of working, she and Roy moved back to Hallett to take care of her aging parents, Joe and Mintie Flager and she committed to driving over a hundred miles per day to Tulsa for work. She retired to the farm in 2007 after Calumet Oil Company was sold to Chaparral Energy and the offices were moved to Oklahoma City. She was described by her family as a loving and thoughtful wife, mother and grandmother who would do almost anything to help others. She seemed to always have a smile on her face and was the glue that held the family together. She always had a positive and upbeat attitude even during her battle with cancer over the past couple of years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and supplied many items to her family and friends for their children and infant clothing needs. She also enjoyed working in the flower and vegetable garden behind her home. She spent many hours bottle feeding newborn calves and enjoyed assisting Roy with the cattle. Jania has a strong faith in God and lived for her family. She was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs. She passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Drumright Regional Hospital at the age of sixty-seven. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Max, and a sister, Mary Lee Berryman. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Roy E. Boone of the home; a son and his wife, Barry E. and Bridget Boone of Owasso, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Joseph Boone, Matthew Goodner and Justin Boone, and a granddaughter, Charlotte Boone, all of Owasso, Oklahoma; a brother, Ronnie Flager of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and eleven nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord and will be missed by her family and her Calumet Oil Company family.
