Janey Faye Brown

Janey Faye Brown, of Jennings, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the age of 71 years five months and 27 days. Janey was born in Fresno, California on November 13, 1939; she was the daughter of Claude and Lula Francis (Suson) Turner. As a young girl Janey grew up in the Clovis and Fresno area. She attended school in Clovis and later graduated from Clovis High School. Soon after graduation Janey began working with her sister as a cook. She and her sister worked at several restaurants before she accepted employment with Lasher Brothers Trucking, Inc. in Los Banos, California. Janey continued to work as a bookkeeper for several years. On March 15, 1969, Janey was united in marriage to Robert L. Brown in Carson City, Nevada. Shortly after their marriage Janey quit working and began raising her family. She was a stay at home mom to Robert and Rebecca and loving wife to Robert. The two raised their family in the Los Banos area where they resided until March of 2008. At that time the two moved to Jennings, Oklahoma where they retired and made their home. Janey loved to go and take trips. The location was not important to her as long as it included the love of her life Robert. During the times in California the family would often go camping and take the motorhome to Mariposa which is known as the ìMother of California Countiesî. Survivors are her loving husband Robert of the home, one son Robert G. Brown of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one daughter Rebecca J. Glinka and her husband Tony of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers Elmer Turner of Mannford, Oklahoma, Don Turner of El Nido, California, Larry Turner of Los Banos, California; one sister Flora Bristow of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Morgan and Seth as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Lula Turner, three brothers James, Jerry and Joe Turner. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Friday, May 13, 2011 at Jennings Cemetery with Chaplain John Owen officiating. Burial will also be held in the Jennings Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
