James Thomas Leach, of Jennings was born November 22, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Glenn and Dixie (Wilson) Leach. James served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army as a Helicopter Pilot. He received the following decorations and citations: the Army Aviator Badge; Air Medal w/15 Oak Leaf Clusters; Air Medal w/V Device; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Dom Rep); Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device 1960 as well as the Bronze Star Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross which very people have acquired. After his return from the military James accepted employment with United Airlines as a pilot. James continued to work for United Airlines until his retirement after 30 years.
James passed away Monday, March 20, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years 3 months and 28 days.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia of the home, mother Dixie, two brothers Terry and Chris Leach as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Woodland Memorial Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with Rev. Mark Compton officiating under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
