James Stacy Hogan, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at the age of 65 years.
Stacy was born on June 8, 1950, in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of James Marvin and Lottie Bernice (Bennett) Hogan. Stacy was raised in the Dallas area and at the completion of his education; he gained employment in the construction business. He was later united in marriage on April 5, 1983, to Diana Marie Coburn. The two established their initial home in Mesquite. They later moved to Hominy, Oklahoma where he has continued to reside. Stacy worked for the decorator’s union setting up trade shows for many years. He was last employed as a subcontractor for Sears doing home remodeling. Stacy was forced to retire due to health reasons.
Stacy was devoted, determined and a quick-witted man who lived for his family. He took so much pride in his children and especially his precious grandchildren Dylan, Trevor, Conner, Hailey, Addison and Haven. Stacy loved life and laughter and was also a gifted carpenter. Stacy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Stacy was a "Jack of All Trades". His first love was playing his guitar. Chances are whenever you saw him; it was guaranteed that his guitar was by his side. He enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals. The Grascals were his favorite group and when he could, he would "pic" his guitar with them. Stacy was an extremely talented musician who also played the mandolin, banjo and piano. Stacy enjoyed going to New Orleans and Las Vegas. Stacy has touched many lives and will be missed dearly.
Survivors are his wife Diana of the home; three children Jennifer Hogan of Georgia, Deborah Hogan of Hominy, Oklahoma, Jessica Marie Hogan of Hominy, Oklahoma; mother Lottie Bennett of Mesquite, Texas; siblings Jan Foster of Dallas, Texas, Alan Hogan of Pretty Water, Oklahoma; grandchildren Dylan Hogan, Trevor Jones, Conner Hogan, Hailey Hogan, Addison Hipp, Haven DeRoin and many other relatives and friends will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his father James Marvin Hogan, son James Stacy Hogan Jr. and a sister Darlene Kruse.
Services will be held 10:30 am Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Calvary Worship Center with Rev. Kenny Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
