James Franklin Hubbard, Jr.

James Franklin Hubbard, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in Richardson, Texas at the age of 47 years old.
Frank was born on September 27, 1968, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of James F. Sr. and Nancy Ellen (Burgess) Hubbard. Frank grew up in the Terlton and Cleveland area. He started school in Terlton and following the completion of the sixth grade went to Cleveland public schools where he completed his education. He graduated with the Class of 1987. While Frank was growing up he participated in little league baseball as well as bob cat football. During his time in high school Frank was a part of the Cleveland Tigers football team. Following high school Frank worked a short time in the area as a bricklayer and rock mason.
Frank joined the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he was stationed in Panama, Turkey and Kuwait. He saw action in the Middle East during Desert Storm. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, Frank returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma. He soon began attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.
Following his graduation from OSU, Frank worked for Jennings and Keystone Schools and he also worked in the Oklahoma City School system. In 2001 Frank moved to Texas teaching in the Plano district and was currently teaching 4th grade and was the science coordinator at Aldridge Elementary.
He enjoyed being outdoors so much he volunteered to take the playground duty every day at work. Frank was also a history buff and enjoyed teaching others about it. Frank was a very fun loving and outgoing person always bringing a smile to others. One of Frank’s greatest accomplishments was obtaining his teaching degree. He loved spending time with his children. Frank also enjoyed playing games on the computer. Frank was very well thought of by his peers, students and their parents who he dealt with on a daily basis.
Survivors are his three children Collin Hubbard of Denton, Texas, James Hubbard III of Wylie, Texas, Allison Hubbard of Wylie, Texas, mother Nancy Crossland and her husband Dan of Cleveland, Oklahoma; sister Melissa Wilson and her husband Don of Norman, Oklahoma; two nieces Kiley and Jamie Wilson; one nephew David Wilson as well as many other friends and relatives that will mourn his passing. Frank was preceded in death by his father James Franklin Hubbard, Sr., paternal grandparents Bert and Ruby Hubbard as well as his maternal grandparents Isaac and Mary Burgess.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Church of Christ in Cleveland, Oklahoma with Doug Dingley officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
Frank’s family has requested that anyone wishing to make a donation instead of flowers might send a financial gift in his name to the school where the taught. It can be designated for either fund for helping students in need of things like backpacks and school supplies or to help fund books for a special “Frank Hubbard History Section” in the school’s library.
