James Arthur Stalling

Memorial services for James Arthur Stalling will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 3:00. September 14, 2013. The body was cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. James Arthur Stalling passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years and three days. James was born on September 5, 1959, in Norwalk, California. He was the son of Howard Lee and Viola Hazel (Ruse) Stalling. James was raised and received his education in Norwalk where he graduated high school with the Class of 1977. Following high school James began working in a machine shop and later moved to Hallett, Oklahoma in the early 1980ís. In 1983, James was involved in a automobile accident which left him as a quadriplegic. Following many months of recovery James continued to live in Hallett and later in the early 1990ís moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1995, James was united in marriage to Susan Roberta Schaffer in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Rose Garden. Following their marriage the couple lived in Tulsa. James had a passion for remote controlled vehicles; he had many airplanes and cars that he loved to operate. James was also a avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed trips to the races and loved rebuilding computers. James disliked being confined in small spaces and always appreciated his freedom to go places. He was also very smart and able to overcome many problems that his disability left him with. Most of all James loved life and lived a full life everyday. Survivors are his care giver and friend Meredith Lloyd of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four brothers Robert Stalling of Terlton, Oklahoma, Roger Stalling of Colorado, Terry Stalling of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gary Stalling, one sister Yvonne Merrell of Mannford, Oklahoma, two step children Heather Simonini of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tony Kurth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two step grandchildren Storm Simonini, Haley Kurth; nieces and nephews Robbie, Dana and Joseph Stalling, Jack and Billy Merrell, Mark and Angela Stalling, Michael, Milei, Kyler, Hannah, Haily, Aubrey, Blake and his babies Kippy, Cody and Peppy as well as many other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susan in 2008 as well as a sister Hazel Irene Stalling.
