Obituary Jacqueline Brower A celebration of the life of Jacqueline Roller Brower, will be held Friday, February 28 at 10 am at the First Christian Church, with Dakota Rush officiating. Jackie passed away at home February 24 at the age of 88. Jackie was born April 4, 1925 in Cleveland to Chester and Mamie (Todd) Roller. She was reared in Cleveland, but due to her father working in the area oil fields, her family also lived in Hominy, Wynona and Terlton as she was growing up. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1943. During World War II, Jackie worked at the McDonald Douglas plant in Tulsa making parts for B24 and B25 war planes. Following the war, she worked as a bookkeeper for Forrest Black, Osage Oil Co., a local contractor and a Hominy muffler shop before accepting employment with the City of Cleveland in 1970. In 1972, she was named city clerk and remained in that position until she retired March 31, 1987. On January 24, 1947 she and Jessey Dale Brower were united in marriage in Cleveland, and to this union were born two sons, Michael and Lee. Jackie was an active life-long member of Clevelandís First Christian Church, and was baptized there in 1937. Through most of her life she enjoyed singing in the church choir, and being an active member of her Sunday School class. She read the entire Bible several times throughout her life. Following her retirement, Jackie and Dale traveled some, but they spent most of their time enjoying being together at home and spending time with their family. They were both sports enthusiasts and enjoyed following the Cleveland Tigers, the OSU Cowboys, and the Dallas Cowboys. Reading novels was also a favorite hobby of Jackieís. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Chester Sr. and Mamie Roller, her husband Dale and son Lee, along with her sisters Mary Ruth, Doris and her husband Leroy, and Lou and her husband Darrell, her brother Chester Roller, Jr. ìChuckî and his wife Berta, and nephew Brandon. She is survived by her son Mike of Cleveland, daughter-in-law Kay Rabbitt-Brower, also of Cleveland, brother Dick Roller and his wife Carolyn of Topeka, KS, six grandchildren, Lenee Taylor, Bixby, Stephanie Easter, Oklahoma City, Edwin Brower and his wife Pattie, Wyndmoor, PA, Jeff Brower, Pflugerville, TX, Brian Brower, and Amanda Brower, both of Cleveland, six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Norma Gale Clayton, Hamilton, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are grandsons Edwin, Jeff and Brian Brower, great-grandson Michael Brower, nephew Jerry Martin, and nephew-in-law Jack Cummins. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to the What-So-Ever Sunday School class at the First Christian Church to support the classí mission in S.E. Asia; a project Jackie supported.
