Jack Wilber Lemmons, 88, life long resident of the Cleveland area passed from this life on Thursday, November 4, 2010 with his family at his side. Jack the son of Charles Williams and Mary Margaret (Maples) Lemmons was born February 18, 1922 in Lenapah, Oklahoma. At an early age his family moved to Hominy, Oklahoma. Jack began his education in Hominy before his family settled in the Boston Pool Area on the Old Ella Carson Place. Jack later met the love of his life Juanita Opal Adams while picking cotton on the family farm . The couple was united in marriage on February 16, 1941 in Boston Pool, Oklahoma where the couple established their initial home. Jack continued the operation of the family farm with his father; farming as well as raising cattle in the Boston Pool Circle. Following JackÃs retirement; his sons have continued the legacy of the family farm in Boston Pool. Jack enjoyed writing songs, poems as well as bird watching. Jack also believed in the power of the pen. Writing to the President on numerous occasions always starting out, ìI hope this doesnÃt make it to pigeon hole 13î. Jack loved working in his garden and sharing his crop with friends and family. He also helped many people as well as never speaking out of line toward anyone. If you ever came to visit Jack you were always felt a sincere welcome. Mr. Lemmons was also a man that was very religious and loved his Lord and Saviour. Survivors are his five children Jack Wesley Lemmons and his wife Deanna of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Jerry Lee Lemmons and his wife Sharon of Boston Pool, Oklahoma, Lois June Dobbins of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Carl Dean Lemmons and his wife Gwenda of Pershing, Oklahoma, Brenda Mae Bridges of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Margarete Johnson of Winnfield, Louisiana; twelve granchildren Tobin Don Lemmons, Allyson Chapman, Terri Kay Cheek, Luana June Alexander, Kevin Dean Dobbins, Carla Denise Lemmons, Terry Dean Lemmons, Kelly Janway, Aaron Godwin, Rodney Shoup, Charles Wilson, Samuel Joshua Lemmons, twenty nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Charles William Lemmons, mother Mary Margaret Lemmons (Maples), wife Juanita Opal Adams Lemmons in 1999; one son Samuel Jay Lemmons in 1998, three sisters, Trilby Lemmons, Nettie Dick, Naomi Fowler; five brothers Dave Lemmons, Doug Lemmons, Dan Lemmons, Cliff Lemmons, Buster Lemmons, Joe Lemmons and Amos Lemmons; three grandchildren Scott Wayne Lemmons, Paul Travis Ray and Jaclyn Lemmons.
