Islarae Cox

Islarae was born on July 1, 1936 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma the daughter of George and Ruby (Maddox) in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. She was raised in Fort Gibson until she was in the fourth grade when the family moved to Muskogee where she continued her education; she graduated from Central High School in 1954. Islarae was united in marriage to Sam Ford for in 1955 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The couple had three children Steven Dale, Marcia Lynn and Scott Douglas. They lived in Tulsa where she was employed at Hillcrest Medical Center. Islarae worked for the hospital for over 35 years as a medical transcriptionist when she retired. In 1978, Islarae was united in marriage to her soul mate, Bill Cox in Cleveland, Oklahoma where she has resided until the time of her death. She loved crafting and gardening as well as spending numerous hours making gifts for her family and friends. Islarae passed from this life on Friday, September 30, 2011, in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years old. Survivors are her Bill of the home, Steven Dale Ford of Cleveland, Oklahoma, two step children Gary and Debbie Cox and Bob and Tracy Cox all of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Carol Wagester of Wagoner, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Nicole, Cassie, Courtney, Erick, Jennifer, Preston, Bryce and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father George Dobson, mother Ruby Dobson (Maddox), one daughter Marcie Lynn, one son Scott Douglas and a infant twin brother. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. The body was cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
