Holly Jo Prewitt

"To know her is to love her"

Miss Holly Jo Prewitt was brought into this world on December 16, 1971. She was born in Tulsa, Ok to Earnest and Peggy Prewitt. She was the youngest of 3 children and has an older brother Mark and an older sister Cathy. During her elementary school years, she attended Cleveland Elementary and Horace Mann Elementary in Hominy. She graduated high School in 1999 from Cleveland Public Schools. She loved her time in school more than anyone and continually asked to go back. Many teachers throughout her school career had a positive impact on her and she loved them all.

After high school graduation she worked at Pawnee County Workshop in Cleveland where she made many lifelong friends. She loved to stay busy, thrived on her independence and loved being around people. She lived in one of the Faith homes in Cleveland for awhile before moving to Pawhuska and then Tulsa while attending their workshops for special needs individuals. It brought her great joy and helped her attain even more independence. She moved back home to Cleveland living with her parents and also attended CSC in Cleveland. She took great pride in her work and loved being a part of the organization and when she was able to attend some of the special events they had planned. She had so many people, both friends and staff, at CSC who she loved very much.

Holly attended Special Olympics in Red Rock,Ok and Stillwater, Ok throughout her childhood and adult years. During her early years at Special Olympics in Stillwater, Ok she won first place in bowling which was one of her greatest accomplishments. She also participated in running, walking, softball throw and javeline throw. She loved staying in the residence halls, attending the dances at OSU stadium and all the fun activities associated with Special Olympics. She put her heart and soul into paticipating and loved receiving the medals and ribbons. Since Special Olympics was hosted each May in Stillwater, Ok this made her an AVID OSU fan.

During the past several years she attended the Tim Tebow Night to Shine Dance in Tulsa, Ok. This organization is in charge of hosting a Prom for special needs Kings and Queens. It is hosted worldwide every year in February. The paticipants are treated to a night of royalty complete with beautiful decorations, fancy dresses, tuxedos, dinner, dancing, limousines, crowns, flowers, pictures, and rooms filled with so many fun activities: all for THEM complete with a walk down the red carpet. Miss Holly absolutely cherished this one special night in February. It was truly the highlight of her year, and she was truly a queen for the night.

Each day was a new adventure to Holly, and she would wake up asking "where are we going". She had a zest for life and greeted each day head on with love, laughter, and a sweet smile. She loved to shop everywhere, eat at her favorite restaurants (Lamberts, Olive Garden, Arnolds, Josephs), going to movies, taking the boat to Skiatook Lake, camping, taking family vacations, singing, dancing and loved to shop for Elvis and Reba memorabilia. She loved 50's music and country songs. Music played a huge role in her life and brought her so much joy and happiness.

Each day to Holly was a celebration of LIFE and she always woke up with a sweet and beautiful smile. She loved every single Holiday throughout the year especially Halloween, her Birthday and Christmas. She loved picking out a costume every year for Halloween and wanted to go trick or treating every single year. Her Birthday was all about her...God brought her into this world that day, so she always wanted a BIG celebration complete with going out to eat, cake, candles and her favorite part were the presents. She loved celebrating Christmas and the birth of her savior, loved riding around looking at lights, attending family gatherings and opening presents. She loved to decorate, cook, make crafts and dressing up for each and every holiday throughout the year. It all brought her so much joy and happiness.

Holly loved to be around all her family. She was surrounded by her family who loved and cherished her every single day of her life. One of her greatest joys in life was being an Aunt. God graced her with 7 beautiful nieces and 2 handsome nephews. Holly was also going to be an Aunt once again to a new great-nephew who will be born in November. She adored each one of her nieces and nephews. She loved playing with them when they were young and visiting and seeing them as they got older. She also adored Ross Mahan and she saw him as her protector.

She was a bright light in this world and saw each day as a gift and lived each day with a sweet beautiful smile. Whenever she walked into a room her presence made this world a better place.

Every single person she met grew to know her and to love her.

She is survived by her loving parents Earnest and Peggy Prewitt of Cleveland, 1 brother Mark Prewitt and wife Lisa of Boston, MA, 1 sister Cathy Ray and husband Mark of Cleveland, Ok.
