Helen Louise Hickman, 89, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, died October 31, 2018. She was born August 04, 1929, to Leonard and Ruby Leoli (Taylor) Russell in Boston Pool, Oklahoma. Graduating in 1947, she attended Cleveland Schools. She married James Marvin Young, and from this union came five children; Gail, Roy, Steve, Randy and Robert. James passed from this life in February of 1995. Helen worked as a cafeteria manager at Cleveland Public Schools.
James Blaine Hickman united with Helen in marriage on January 13, 1996. Dancing to country music, camping and fishing were some of her favorite things to do. After James passed in 2002, Helen moved to Kellyville in 2005 to be closer to the family. Helen’s sister Joan was her best friend, sharing many of her life’s memories.
Survivors are her children, Gail Duckworth and life-partner Susie Seibert of Kellyville, Oklahoma; Roy Young and wife Susan of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Steve Young and wife Susan of Mt. View, Arkansas; Robert Young of Keifer, Oklahoma; brother Jerry Russell and wife Ann of Kellyville, Oklahoma; sister Joan Marsh and husband Bob of Newkirk, Oklahoma; as well as multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband James Marvin Young, second husband James Blaine Hickman, son Randy Young, and two sisters Lois and Madge.
Viewing for Helen will be Monday, November 5, 2018, from 10AM till 7PM at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating.
