Helen Lorene (Rhodes) Myers was born January 20, 1933 in Jennings, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Isaac Thomas and Mandy Adiline (Teague) Rhodes. Helen was raised and attended school in Jennings, graduating from Jennings High School in 1951.

Shortly after graduation, Helen was married on March 30, 1952 to Dwight Leo "Corky" Myers, whom she had met at the First Baptist Church in Jennings. The couple was married near the end of Corky's enlistment in the United States Army and upon his discharge established their initial home in Tulsa.

The couple then moved to Midland, Texas when Corky accepted employment in the oilfields of west Texas. They had three children, Pebble, Dwight, Jr. and Choya. Helen devoted her life to taking care of her husband and children. She loved spending time with her entire family including her sisters and brother.

In 1970, Corky and Helen moved their family to Chickasha, Oklahoma and then later moved to Alex, Oklahoma when Corky retired in 1990. Helen often assisted her husband in his participation in the American Legion in Lindsey and the Disabled American Veterans, Oklahoma Chapter 17. She also assisted him in his efforts with the Feed The Children program in the Chickasha area. While residing in Chickasha, Helen was employed as a PBX operator and secretary for Chickasha Mobile Home. Corky preceded her in death on November 24, 2000.

In addition to spending time with her family, Helen enjoyed going to garage sales and working in her yard, tending to the flower garden. She passed away on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Norman Regional Hospital at the age of seventy-four years, nine months and nine days. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters, Thelma Bell, Betty Butler, Linda Marie Rhodes and Mildred L. Vincent.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Dwight L. Myers, Jr. and Karen of Garland, Texas and Choya J. Myers and Tammy of Lindsey, Oklahoma; daughter and her husband, Pebble A. and Kurth Muncie of Purcell, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Angie Myers, Brian Myers, Austin Muncie, Tanya Myers, Daphne Myers and Chase Muncie; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Myers and Kody Myers; four sisters, Dixie Rhodes, Mary Garner, Juanita Burt and Carol Mayfield; and a brother, John Rhodes.

A family gathering and visitation will be held at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 1, 2007. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Lawson Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma.
