Harvey Ralph King

Harvey Ralph King passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at his home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, eight months and five days.

Harvey was born May 27, 1934, in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was the son of Ralph Archie and Laura L. (Scearce) King. As a young child Harvey grew up and attended school in Salina, Oklahoma. Following the completion of his education, Harvey began working as a delivery man for Pepsi. While Harvey was on a local delivery, he found the love of his life Lena Marie Carney at Charo’lete’s. The two were later united in marriage on May 25, 1968 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Harvey and Lena established their initial home in Tulsa later moving to his current home in Westport near Keystone Lake. Harvey continued working for PepsiCo as a route driver until 1995, when he retired after 48 years.

Harvey enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harvey and Lena enjoyed traveling. During the times the children were growing up they would take their pickup and camper to many places. The two later purchased a travel trailer and traveled to every state West of the Mississippi. Harvey has been a longtime active member of the Westport Baptist Church. Harvey was also a former member of the Oil Capital CB Club.

Survivors include two children Tina Studebaker of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Allen King of Cleveland, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren Corrie, Nicole, Ashley, Chris, Carley, Breawna, Teagan, Ashley; nine great grandchildren Kylie, Caleb, Carter, Zach, Jayme, Alexis, Hunter, Hailey, Jono and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Lena and a son Bobby R. King.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel. Following the cremation and memorial services burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
