Gloria D. Comstock was born January 4, 1936 in Terlton, Oklahoma. She was one of seven children of Kermit James and Oma Bell (Hazlip) Burgess. Gloria was raised and attended school in Terlton, graduating from Terlton High School in 1954. Upon completion of her education, Gloria accepted employment as a secretary at American Airlines working for several different engineers for nearly eight years. Later Gloria accepted a position with National Tank where she met Hardy Comstock. The couple was married on June 10, 1966 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. They made their initial home just a few miles west of Mannford, residing there for nearly six years before moving to Mannford for a while. The couple had four children, Randy, Donnie, Debbie and Michelle. After a short time in Pawnee, Hardy and Gloria moved their family east of Terlton where they resided for nearly twenty-two years. In 1999, they moved to Cleveland where they have continued to reside until the time of GloriaÃs passing. Gloria dedicated her life to maintaining a loving and caring home for her husband and children. Although she worked as an office manager at Allis Chalmers and Blue Cross/Blue Shield for a few years her primary focus was always on her family. She was an avid reader and spent countless hours enjoying that pastime. Additionally, she enjoyed painting and numerous of her art works adorn the wall of their home. She also loved camping and traveling in the coupleÃs travel trailer throughout the Midwestern United States. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Church of Christ in Cleveland. Gloria served as the church secretary for several years. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her home in Cleveland with her family by her side. Gloria is survived by her husband, Hardy Comstock of the home; two daughters, Debbie Bartley of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Michelle and her husband Richard Miller of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two son, Randy Comstock of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Donnie Comstock of Mulberry, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four brothers, Kermit Gaylord Burgess, Robert Lynn Burgess, Dennis Lane Burgess and Ricky James Burgess; two sisters, Vada Potts and Loretta Kathlene Combs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Oma Bell Burgess. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Cleveland, Oklahoma with Doug Dingley officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
