Geraldine was born September 19, 1932, in Stigler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Will and Nora Mae (Qualls) Ragle. Geraldine attended school and later graduated high school from Kinita, Oklahoma. Following graduation, Geraldine moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and gained employment with Southwestern Bell, where she worked as a telephone operator. She later met the love of her life Billy Gene Ragle, Sr. at a church event, and they were united in marriage on May 8, 1954. The couple established their home in Tulsa for many years. During this time, Geraldine worked at Dickason-Goodman and Zebco. In 1968, Geraldine and Bill moved to Mannford, Oklahoma.
Geraldine then started working for Allen Edwards and was also a private care giver for several years. Her last job was as the "Lunch Lady" at the Olive schools, where she worked until she retired in 2006. In 2012, Geraldine and Billy moved to Cleveland and resided in the Baptist Village.
Geraldine loved being outdoors. One of her many hobbies was fishing, which enjoyed frequently doing. She also enjoyed working in the garden and canning the fruits and vegetables that she and Billy would grow. Geraldine was an excellent seamstress and spent countless hours making quilts for all of her family and friends. During the holidays, Geraldine always made numerous dishes for her family and friends to enjoy. Geraldine was a longtime member of the Lake Area Baptist Church.
Geraldine is survived by two children Billy Gene Ragle, Jr. and his wife Deanna of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Valerie Denise Vaughan and her husband Mike of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Lecretia Crow of Mounds, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Amanda Bartley and her husband Jason, Andrea Landsaw and her husband Daniel, April Goad and her husband Cody, Patrick Vaughan, Brooke Malloy and her husband Dustin, Lexie Dorius and her husband Josh, Rusty Hennigh and his wife Dakota; fourteen great-grandchildren Tanner, Hunter, and Aidan Bartley, Cooper and Elijah Landsaw, Ainsley Goad, Remington and Jasper Malloy, Olivia, Jacelyn, Addison and Denver Hennigh, Hunter and Austen Dorius and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Billy, six brothers John, Leon, Leonard, Boyd, Thurman, and Charlie Pugh, two sisters Vera Hurst and Wanda Harris.
Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Cleveland with Pastor Dan Doss officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Mannford, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
