Gerald Ray Selvidge a life long resident of the Cleveland area passed away at his home in Cleveland on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Jerry was born on February 25, 1935 in Keystone, Oklahoma. He was the son of Dewey Lee and Dora Ellen (Long) Selvidge. Jerry was raised and received his education in Keystone where he attended high school. At the conclusion of his education, Jerry joined the United States Army. During his time in the Army Jerry served his country in Korea as a cook and oil furnace technician. Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army on June 25, 1958, Jerry returned to Keystone, Oklahoma. Jerry began helping his father at his local gas station for a short time; before moving to Cleveland in the mid 1960ís where he has continued to reside. Jerry enjoyed going with his father hunting to Colorado on many occasions. He also was a very private person that enjoyed spending his time with his animals that he loved dearly. Survivors are his brother Delbert Selvidge and his wife Peggy of Collinsville, Oklahoma as well as several other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Thelma Jean Young. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 30, 2010 with Rev. Greg Hall officiating. Burial will follow privately in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
