Funeral services for Gary Winston Brewster will be held on Friday, 2:00 pm, January 17, 2014 at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with Pastor David Logsdon officiaitng. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at 51st and Memorial in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A reception be held from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm at the cemetery banquet facility immediatley following services. Arrangments are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Gary was born October 12, 1940, in Ada, Oklahoma. He was the son of Cecil Winston and Aleene Hilda (Schulz) Brewster. Gary was raised and received his education in Ada and later graduated Latta High School with the Class of 1959. Following high school Gary enrolled at East Central and later moved to Wichita, Kansas where he began working on the assembly line at Cessna. After several years in Kansas Gary returned to the Ada area where he gained employment with Parker Drilling as a roughneck. He was later united in marriage to Linda Kay Crowson on December 20, 1970 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following their marriage Gary and Linda established their home in Oklahoma City. Gary attended truck driving school and soon began driving over the road. Not enjoying being away from home for long durations, Gary accepted employment at Deer Creek School in the maintenance department. In 1977, Gary and Linda then moved to Okmulgee. Gary furthered his education at OSU Okmulgee and completed his higher education with an AssociateÃs Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Gary and Linda then moved to Norman, Oklahoma where he started working for GordonÃs Heating and Air as a technician. In the early 1980Ãs, Gary moved his family once again to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Gary started working for Cleveland Public Schools as a bus driver and soon began working in the maintenance department at the school. Gary worked for Cleveland Public Schools until 1992 when he retired. Gary enjoyed taking trips in their motorhome as well as fishing and camping. He spent many hours bird watching and loved being with his family. Gary Brewster passed from this life on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home in Cleveland at the age of 73 years and three months. Survivors are his Linda of the home, daughter Amy Kathleen Damron of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother Jack Brewster of Ada, Oklahoma as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was preceded in death by parents and a sister Sandra Gayle Brown.
