Gary Earl Stoneburner
November 8, 1951 - February 17, 2025
Gary Earl Stoneburner, 73, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away on February 17, 2025.
Gary was born on November 8, 1951, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Ethel Stoneburner. He grew up in Wilburton and wasn't one to follow the crowd. He lived life on his own terms, not concerned with what people thought. He was authentic, honest, and lived with integrity. If he said he would do something, he did it-no excuses.
For many years, Gary owned and operated Gary's Tree Service, working hard and building a reputation for reliability. After retiring, he took great pride in traveling the country as the owner and operator of Westport Trucking.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling jokes, and socializing with family and friends. He had a knack for storytelling and making people laugh. He loved watching old Westerns and took life as it came, never sweating the small stuff.
Later in life, after raising their children, Gary and his wife Donna had the opportunity to travel with his youngest son and family. Together, they visited Yellowstone, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Pikes Peak, and several parts of Europe. Those adventures were some of his most cherished memories.
Above all, Gary loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Tracy Stoneburner and his wife Paula Stoneburner, Jimmy Battaglear, Jeff Battaglear and his wife Tina Battaglear, Aaron Stoneburner, and Justin Stoneburner and his wife Ashleigh Stoneburner; his sister Naomi Valiollahi and husband Mark Valiollahi, and brother Randy Stoneburner; his grandchildren: Samantha, Kalie, Michael, Kirstie, Chance, Kody, Mason, and Wyley; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sharon Peevyhouse, and his granddaughter Kristen Stoneburner.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Chapman-Black Funeral Home, with Chuck Barrineau officiating. Burial will follow at Sinnett Cemetery in Cleveland.
Arrangements are under the care of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends and family can visit his memorial page at www.chapman-black.com.
