Gary Ray Lawson passed from this life Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the age of 85 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gary was born on January 21, 1936, at Ashland, Oregon the son of Jack and Faye (Perkins) Lawson. Gary attended school and grew up in Ashland, Oregon graduating from Ashland High School with the Class of 1954. Following high school Gary joined the United States Air Force initially stationed in Utah. Gary was united in marriage to Barbara McCabe on May 5, 1967, in Bixby, Oklahoma. Following their marriage Gary and Barbara remained in Bixby for a couple years before purchasing their home Keystone Lake. Gary worked for Mohawk Rock and Sand from the early 1970's retiring in 2006. Following his retirement from Mohawk; Gary started working for Southwest Wire Cloth as a maintenance supervisor until he retired a second time in 2015.

Gary had a passion for cars. He raced prostock for many years holding World Champion title in 1965. Repairing and rebuilding cars was also something he enjoyed. His 1979 El Camino was one of his prized possessions. Going fishing with his friend Bill Bolte were always memorable times. Gary was very determined and always making things work when others thinking it couldn't be done.

Survivors are his wife Barbara of the home; Tony Lawson and his wife Oregon, Paige Lawson, Shellie Lawson, Tonya Fetzik and her husband Steve of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Trena Zickefoose and her husband Troy of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one sister Donna Lawson of Palm Desert, California; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Faye Lawson, brother Keith Lawson, two children Jennifer and Jack Lawson, and his best friend Bill Bolte.
