Gary Lee Fisher

Gary Lee Fisher passed from this life at his home in Hominy, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the age of 44 years.

Gary was born on September 25, 1971, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the middle child of Robert Lee and Judith Gay (Hagle) Fisher. Gary was raised and received his education in Cleveland where he began kindergarten. He later graduated high school with the Class of 1990. During Gary’s time growing up he was an active athlete playing baseball and football. He was honored on several occasions for his abilities and led the Cleveland Tigers as their quarterback to many wins throughout his time in school. He was awarded All District Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Who’s Who in American High School Football; as well as 3A All Star Team.

Following high school Gary attended Oklahoma State University. Gary soon began working for Valmont Industries in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a short time. Gary was united in marriage to Cassie M. Schuler on March 1, 1997, at the Blackburn Baptist Church. He later accepted a position with Konecranes in June of 1998. He began as a technician and worked his way into his current position as District Operations Manager for the Rocky Mountain District. His territory covered Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and the Texas Panhandle.

During his time at Konecranes, Gary reached many levels of excellence. During his sixteen years of employment he was awarded these achievements: Rio Grande District-Crane Pro Services-Americas-Contract Sales Excellence Award for 2001, 2003 and 2006; Rio Grande District-Crane Pro Services-Americas-Service Sales Excellence Award for 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005; Top Service Sales Award in 2006; Rio Grande District-Konecranes Service-Americas-Service Sales Excellence Award-Million Dollar Plus Club in 2007; Rio Grande District-Konecranes Service-Americas-Service Sales Excellence Award-$1.5 Million in 2008 and 2009; Rio Grande District-Service Sales Excellence $1.5 Million & over in 2010; RMD-Service Sales Excellence $1.5 Million and over in 2011; Service Award in 2006 for Konecranes RIO Service; Hoist Club in 2007 Branch of Year Tulsa Rio Grande District; Service Award 2007 for Konecranes Rio Grande District Recognition for Branch of the Year in Tulsa Oklahoma; Branch of the Year 2009; District of the Year 2009; Rio District of the Year 2007; RMD Service District of the Year 2014 and RMD Safety Award for 2014. Gary enjoyed his work mainly because the people he worked with were not only co-workers but friends that he loved being around. He often said he would not have been as successful in his career had it not been for the hard working, loyal co-workers that he called his friends.

Gary enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved spending every minute available with his wife and two wonderful daughters. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. Some of the most memorable trips were spent with his father- in- law, Tony Schuler. Including trips hunting for mule deer and antelope in Buffalo, Wyoming, pheasant, turkey, and dove hunting in Nebraska and Western Kansas, deer hunting and fishing in Ontario, Canada, as well as fishing on Reed Lake in Manitoba. Later in life Gary picked up the game of golf and was an avid golfer for many years. Always searching for the best golf course to play during his times of travel. He especially enjoyed playing with his golfing buddies Bobby Goodman and Ron Walker. Gary and his family enjoyed many summers on South Grand Lake where Cassie's family owned a cabin. In 2007, daughters, Taeah and Piper, began raising and showing boer goats. It became a family affair and favorite pass time. Gary, and father-in-law, Tony, spent countless hours building barns and pens as well as chauffeuring the girls many miles to shows and events too numerous to list, over the last nine years. Gary always enjoyed the time spent at shows visiting with friends and people he considered "show family".

Survivors are his loving wife Cassie of the home; two daughters Taeah and Piper of the home, mother Judy Fisher of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers Rob and his wife Gretchin of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Ryan Fisher and his wife Deana of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Bob Fisher as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
