Gabriel Lynn Muse was born June 21, 1982 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the son of David and Jeanie (Whitesell) Muse. Gabe moved as a baby with his family to Verdigris, Oklahoma where he attended school. Gabe was a member of the first graduating class of Verdigris High School after World War II with the Class of 2000. During his high school career, Gabe was a member of the Cardinal Football and Soccer teams as well as Valedictorian of his class. Additionally, Gabe served on the student council, played trombone in the band and was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation from high school, Gabe attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Summa Cum Laude. He later obtained his second BachelorÃs Degree in Psychology and then earned his Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology. While attending UCO, Gabe worked at numerous restaurants throughout the Edmond area. For the past several months, Gabe has been employed as a financial officer for Vericrest Financial, Inc servicing residential mortgage and consumer finance loans. Gabe was described by his family as a talented and loving son, who was extremely organized and charismatic; he was a born leader. He was an accomplished bass player who enjoyed all types of music. He was in the process of enrolling in a Doctorate Program to receive his PhD. Gabriel passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of twenty-seven. He was survived by his parents, Jeanie L. and David Lynn Muse of Claremore, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents, Bill and Orvetta Muse of Jennings, Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Rebecca Whitesell of Thompson, Missouri; numeous other relative and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Tom Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Jennings Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
