Freddie Thomas Bowers was born on October 4, 1947, in Joplin, Missouri. He was the second of four children born to Loyd "Buck" and Mildred (Murray) Bowers. Tom grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School in 1966. He joined the United States Navy in October, 1966, serving two years of active duty on the USS Dixie during the Vietnam conflict. After his honorable discharge on December 31, 1969, Tom returned to Tulsa and resumed employment at the Texaco refinery.

Tom was united in marriage to his first wife Franque Chaney (Henson) and they had two sons, Eric and Ryan. Tom was re-married to Lee Ann (Baker) Bowers in 1987. She also had two sons Troy & Tony Kale. The two established their home in Bixby where they raised their four sons and lived for many years. Tom and Lee loved the game of golf and enjoyed traveling with friends and family, always planning their next tee time.

On July 15, 2011, Tom retired from LKQ where he was employed for 20 years. Soon after retirement, Tom moved to Granbury, Texas, where his proximity to two wonderful golf courses and Lake Granbury allowed him to play golf and fish to his heart's content.

Tom passed from this life on February 22, 2025, at the age of 77 in Plano, Texas.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Mildred Bowers, wife Lee Ann Bowers, Franque (Chaney) Henson, brother Jerry Bowers, sister Vicki McCabe and a great grandson Tyler Kale. He is survived by his four sons Eric Bowers and wife Kelly of Georgetown, Texas, Ryan Bowers and wife Heather of Bixby, Troy Kale of Tulsa, Tony Kale and fiancé Janene of Belton, Missouri, brother Keith Bowers and wife Lisa of Tulsa, two granddaughters Kaitlyn Bowers (expecting Tom's first great-grandchild in May) and Rhyan Kale, brother-in-law Ron McCabe, and a host of other relatives and friends.
