Frank Oran Metzger, Jr. life long resident of Hominy, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the age of 55.
Frank was born June 1, 1953 the son of Frank O., Sr. and Bobbie Jean (Tinsley) Metzger. Frank grew up and began his education in Hominy where he later graduated high school with the Class of 1971. During his time in school Frank helped his father in the oil field running a cable tool rig. After graduation he continued helping his parents with their business. In 1978, Frank joined his family starting Metzger Oil Tools. He continued with is brother operating the business until 1997. At that time Mr. Metzger began full time with Boje Oil as an oil producer.
Frank was a man of many talents he enjoyed playing the guitar as well as writing songs. He also collected guns and coins. However, Frank had a passion for the Lord. He sang in praise and worship groups at church, traveled on missionary trips to Russia as well as a leader of the Royal Rangers. Frank loved his children and family dearly. He always took time for his children by building swings as well as taking them camping and teaching them to fish.
Survivors are his three daughters Rebecca Cody, Heidi Metzger, Mari Metzger, three sons Michael Colton Metzger, Ethan Scott Metzger, Gunner Hayes Metzger all of Noble, Oklahoma, sister Janis Horton and her husband Dale of Hominy, Oklahoma, brother David Metzger and his wife Lisa of Hominy, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Frank Oran, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Metzger.
Pallbearers are Robert Bashaw, Troy Bashaw, Josh Metzger, Jared Metzger, Chad Hayes and Barton Meyers. Honorary pallbearers include Clark Montgomery, Darrell Endress and Bobby Endress
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 15, 2008 in the Sanctuary at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.chapman-black.com. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
