Frank Lester Davis lifelong resident and business owner of Davis Pipe Testing in Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this life following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the age of 62 years, five months and twenty four days. Frank was born January 6, 1951, in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was the son of L. A. ìFridayî and Betty Louise (Carver) Davis. Frank began his education in Cleveland where he later graduated with the Class of 1969. Following high school, Frank enrolled at Oklahoma State University before transferring to Northeastern State University. During his time at NSU, Frank found the love of his life Cindy Lee Mundis. After completing two years at NSU, Frank was united in marriage to Cindy on October 29, 1971 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Tahlequah and Frank accepted employment with his father. After several years in the pipeline construction business, Frank went into partnership with E.W. Carter and purchased an oil lease north of Pawhuska. They operated that for several years before forming C&D Pipe Testing. Frank soon bought E.W.ís portion of the company and continued operating the company which is now known as Davis Pipe Testing. Frank and E.W. Carter have worked together in the drilling and production of many sites in Osage and Kay Counties. The two have partnered in E.W. Carter Oil as well as F. Davis Oil and Gas. The companies are currently and actively drilling and producing many wells in Oklahoma. While in high school Frank was active in karate and obtained his brown belt at the completion of his training. Frank loved to spend time outdoors and never stopped pursuing his dreams. He spent many hours bicycling, camping, body building and mountain climbing. Frank and Cindy enjoyed camping and going on hikes in the mountains of Colorado. Frank loved to fly and obtained his private pilotís license during his time in college. Several years ago Frank picked back up his desire to fly. He furthered his training and obtained his instrument rating as well as a multi-engine rating. Frankís most passionate activity was golf; he enjoyed going with his friends and spending the day on beautiful manicured courses. One thing about Frank was whatever hobby he pursued he always exceeded his expectations. Frank and Cindy enjoyed traveling. The two of them have traveled to many places throughout the United States as well as Mexico. Frank has been a longtime member and supporter of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland. He was baptized at a young age while attending Falls Creek. Survivors are his wife Cindy of the home; two sons and their spouses, Adam and Barbara Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jason and Tasha Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters Linda Davidson and her husband Leonard and Denise Norrid both of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Maya Davis, Lila Davis and Kate Davis as well as numerous other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by parents, L. A. "Friday" and Betty Louise Davis and a sister Darla Green. Memorial services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gregory Hall officiating. Private burial of the cremated remains will be held in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
