Floyd Amos Jones, was born October 28, 1941 in Foraker, Oklahoma to Elmer and Isabelle (Longley) Jones. Floyd grew up in Northern Osage County attending school in Foraker and Pawhuska. After Floyd, finished his education he joined the United States Army. While enlisted in the service of his country he was a paratrooper. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Army Floyd returned to the Pawhuska area.

Floyd then gained employment as a carpenter in the Pawhuska area. He then later moved to the Tulsa area where he continued his expertise in the commercial construction. Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family and friends visiting and telling stories. Floyd was also a inspiring artist. Floyd had many of works of art hanging in friends and families homes as well as numerous murals in the Osage Tribe Tribal Complex offices.

Floyd passed away July 9, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years 8 months and 11 days. Preceding him in death are his parents and one brother Melton Jones.

Surviving are his two children, Candice Kionute of Gracemont, Oklahoma; Nathan Jones of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers, Billy Wayne Jones of Hominy, Oklahoma; Fulton Jones of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; two sisters Maxine Robbins of Sun Valley, Nevada; Lorene Hall of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren, Cody Wayne and Dylan Amos Jones of Cleveland, Jennifer and Nikki Kionute of Gracemont, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial servics will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
