Fannie Louise Huffines was born October 15, 1923 in Gypsy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charles W. and Lillie Ione Starrett. Louise was raised and attended most of her schooling in the Gypsy area. She moved with her family to the Boston Pool area in 1994, and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1945.
Louise was married to John Albert Huffines on May 5, 1945 in Hominy, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in Hominy and had one son, John Albert Huffines, Jr. They later moved to Arizona for several years but then returned to resided in Osage and Pawnee County. They couple was living at the time of Mr. Huffines death on January 27, 1988. Louise continued to reside in Hominy until for health reasons moved into the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home.
Louise was a member of the Church of Christ in Hominy. She was a avid reader, enjoying almost any type of book. She was also a member of the TOPS organization in Cleveland for many years. Louise passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of eighty-one years, four months and twenty-five days. In addition to her husband, Louise was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Albert Huffines, Jr.; two brothers, Wesley and Darrell Starrett; and two sisters, Charlene McWilliams and Barbara Carlyle.
She is survived by a brother, Bill Starrett of Hallett, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Betty Robbins of Wanette, Oklahoma and Cleva Breckenridge of Ralston, Oklahoma; numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 11, 2005 at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel with Robert Prater officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
