Evelyn Fay Bickle

Evelyn Fay Bickle was born March 27, 1937 in Hallett, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Mary Fanning. Evelyn was raised in Hallett and attended school in Hallett, Jennings and Mannford. She graduated from Mannford High School in 1955.

While attending high school Evelyn was married to Charles Ullrich. The couple made their initial home in Mannford and then moved to Tulsa. They had three sons, Terry, Tim and Dave. Evelyn later moved to Arizona to live near her sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Sab Bledsaw.

Evelyn moved to California in 1970. While there, she met and married Samuel E. Bickle on January 9, 1975. After their marriage the couple moved to Tulsa when they both accepted employment with Western Paper Company. Evelyn served as an accounts payable clerk for the company for many years. They moved to Glenpool in 1983.

Evelyn was a member of the Friendship Community Church in Mannford. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading Daniel Steele and Patricia Cromwell books. She passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of sixty-six years, eight months and fourteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Carl Fanning, George Fanning and Edward Harruss and a sister, Bernice Helfinvien.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Samuel E. Bickle of the home; three sons, Terry and wife Gail Ullrich of St. Louis, Missouri, Tim and wife Amy Ullrich of Jenks, Oklahoma, Dave and wife Angela Ullrich of McKinney, Texas; two brothers, Bruce Fanning of Jennings, Oklahoma and Bobby Harruss of Chandler, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ethel Bledsaw of Jennings, Oklahoma and Dorothy Bailey of Mannford, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Mathew Ullrich, Kristen Ullrich, Heather Ullrich and Ethan Scott Ullrich.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 15, 2003 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Varnell officiating. Burial will be at the Bethany Cemetery in Hallett, Oklahoma under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
