Evelyn Blaine Wineinger

Evelyn Blaine Wineinger passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years old. Evelyn was born January 29, 1918 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Clarence Blaine and Astrid (Olsen) Jones.'  As a young girl Evelyn grew up and began attending school in Cleveland and later graduated from Cleveland High School.'  Soon after graduation she enrolled in Business College at Salina, Kansas.'  Evelyn returned to the Cleveland area where she later married Harry Kenneth Wineinger on August 6, 1938 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Cleveland.'  While residing in Cleveland Evelyn was a bookkeeper for several local people.'  In the mid 1950ís, Evelyn and Harry moved to Riverton, Wyoming.'  After several years in Wyoming the couple returned to Oklahoma and established their home in Ardmore.'  Evelyn and Harry remained in Ardmore until 1970 when they moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma.'  While living in Sand Springs, Evelyn gained employment for Sinclair which later became ARCO.'  She continued working at' ARCO until her retirement in 1983.'  After Evelyn retired, she and Harry moved to Tulsa where she has continued to reside. Mrs. Wineinger had many hobbies some of them include reading books and writing poetry.'  She also won several awards for her poetry.'  Evelyn volunteered at St. Francis Hospital.'  She also taught several adults how to read with the Adult Literacy Program.'  Evelyn was also a member of the Southside First Christian Church for many years. Survivors are her one son Kenneth Wineinger of Denton, Texas, one daughter Harriet Dowell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four granddaughters Jennifer Lee Hill, Courtney B. Hall, Amy B. Tackett, Angie Dagenais, nine great grandchildren Julia, Jordan and Jayme Hill, Parker and Katie Tackett and Enga, Mason, Ian and Liesl' Dagenais as well as a host of other relatives and friends.'  She was preceded in death by Clarence Blaine Jones, Astrid O. (Olsen) Jones, husband Harry Kenneth Wineinger in January of 1989, one sister Ann Seefeld. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Woodland Cemetery.'  Interment will follow the services in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
