Eva Lavon Cunningham-Mayfield, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the at of 97 years old.

Eva was born September 16, 1919, in Wood, Missouri. The daughter of James William and Pearl Ethel (Demes) Brown. Eva moved with her parents to the Keystone area as a young child. Eva attended school at Rigsby and later completed her education at Cleveland. On December 10, 1938, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Eva was united in marriage to John James Cunningham. They established their home in Keystone where they raised their family Clifford, Sr., Joan and John J. In the mid-1950’s; Eva began working at Kerr Glass Plant in Sapulpa. She remained there until her retirement in the mid-1980s. Following the death of John, Eva was later united in marriage to Carl Mayfield on February 14, 1985; they continued to reside in the Keystone area.

Eva enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also had an extensive collection of rocks that no one was allowed to touch.

Survivors are her daughter Joan Powell and her husband Terry of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter in law Gladys Cunningham of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Terri Shawn Powell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shelby Cunningham of Cleveland, Oklahoma, John Todd Cunningham and his wife Shannon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren Michael and Mckaylah as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Eva was preceded in death by two husbands John James Cunningham, Carl Mayfield, two sons Clifford Shelby Cunningham Sr, John James Cunningham Jr., granddaughter Sherri Dawn Powell, three brothers, and three sisters.

Cemetery Committal Service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Sinnett Cemetery with Scott Watkins officiating. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.chapman-black.com
