va Black, age 73 of Osage, Oklahoma passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 at her home.
Mrs. Black was born September 28, 1933 in Torrance, California the daughter of August and Mary Lou (Flores) Delgrande. Eva spent most of her life in California. At an early age, she helped raise her two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Black would work during the nights in a cannery and packaging company and take care of her siblings during the day. In the 1950Ãs she moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma and was united in marriage to Chuck Baker. They had one daughter, Laura. Mr. Baker was killed in an accident and she was later united in marriage to Oscar Black on October 19, 1969 in Carson City, Nevada. In the early 1980Ãs they moved to Osage, Oklahoma. Eva and her husband, Oscar raised a great grandson, Eugene Bowman, Jr. until they moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Eva enjoyed attending Assembly of God churches. If she was not able to attend, she would watch Christian services on television. Mrs. Black could sing almost every church song by memory.
She passed away February 12, 2007 in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years 4 months and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents August and Mary Delgrande and her brother Fredrick Delgrande.
Survived by her husband Oscar Black of the home; two daughters, Linda Cortez and Laura Bowman, one stepson Dr. Ed Black, one brother, three sisters, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, February 16, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Ron Baldridge and Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
