Eula Mae Arnold, a life long resident of Cleveland was born October 29, 1923 in Osage County, Oklahoma to Toney H. and Vera Pearl (Bryant) Adams. Eula Mae was raised in the Boston Pool Area and attended schools in Cleveland. She was later united in marriage to Harold E. Arnold in Cleveland, Oklahoma on July 4, 1940. After their marriage Eula Mae and Harold continued to make Cleveland their home where they raised their four children; Bob, Rita, Sharon and Tonya. Eula Mae was also employed at Cooks Grocery in Cleveland for a short time. She also worked in several of the local restaurants and owned and operated the Three Way CafÈ. In the mid 1940Ãs Eula Mae was ìRosie the Riveterî at Spartan in Tulsa, Oklahoma during World War II.
Eula Mae worked for Avon for over 32 years and won many awards for her accomplishments as a sale representative. She also loved to cook, work in her garden and can the fruits and vegetables that she grew. Eula Mae loved being with her family and cherished the time that she spent with her daughters. Thanksgiving was a special time of year for Eula Mae, because her family was together eating and enjoying the food that she would prepare. She was also a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland.
Eula Mae passed away Tuesday August 10, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years 9 months and 11 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, sister Charlotte Griffith, brother Melvin Adams, son in law James Alexander and a great grandson Ryan Moyers.
Eula Mae is survived by her son Bob Arnold of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three daughters, Rita Benge and her husband Doug of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Sharon Alexander of Austin, Texas; Tonya Felmlee and her husband Lee of Pensacola, Florida; three sisters, Katherine McCabe and her husband Kenneth of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Connie Horine and her husband Frank of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Helen Hooper and her husband Bobby of Cleveland, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Link Benge of Waterford, Wisconsin; Wade Benge of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Scott Benge of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kimberly Earl of Round Rock, Texas; Leslie Moyers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Heather Alexander of Austin, Texas; Alan Felmlee of Shawnee, Kansas; twelve great grandchildren, Amber Benge, Delta Benge, Autumn Earl, Lane Moyers, Ashleigh Moyers, Alexander Earl, Gracie Benge, Jarod Felmlee, Jim Stack, Dan Stack, Ashley Jameson and Zack Jameson as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 14, 2004 at 2:00 pm at the First Assembly of God Church with services officiated by Rev. Dan Edens and Rev. Kenneth McCabe. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
