At the age of two, Esther moved to Tulsa and was raised and attended school there, graduating from Central High School in 1936. Esther and her mother, Anna loved watching movies together. As her mother Anna was a seamstress, she would often recreate clothing that they saw together on the movies for Esther to wear. Esther resided for nearly thirty five years with her mother in a duplex near Cherry Street in Tulsa. After the death of her mother in 1975, Esther relocated to the Tulsa Pythian Apartments in Tulsa when progress in the Cherry Street area required her home to be removed. She later moved to Cleveland and resided with her cousin and her husband, Mary Jane and Doug Reed. In 2001, Esther moved to the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home where she resided until the time of her death on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the age of ninety-two.
