Ernie Lee Davidson, lifelong Cleveland area resident, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of sixty-three years, ten months and eighteen days. Ernie was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 19, 1950. He was the son of Ernie and Alvera (Wilcoxson) Davidson. He was raised on a farm, near Cleveland and began his education in Cleveland where he later graduated high school with the Class of 1969. While in high school, Ernie Lee was active in all sports, including football, basketball and baseball. Following high school Ernie Lee attended Oklahoma State University for three years, not hesitating to have a good time while he was there. Upon the completion of his education, Ernie Lee accepted a position as a car salesman in Oklahoma, working for his uncle, Smokey Davidson. He later returned to the Maramec area and accepted a position assisting his father, training horses for Earl Gibble. While residing in Maramec, Ernie Lee then began working for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority driving a truck and mowing right of ways on the Cimarron Turnpike for several years. He later moved to the BearÃs Glen area near Keystone Lake and began working for Millcreek Lumber, delivering lumber to job sites throughout the Tulsa area. Ernie was married to Virgina Selvey on July 10, 1993. They made their home in the Cleveland area until Ernie Lee retired in 2012, and moved to Bolivar, Missouri. Just a short time ago the couple moved to San Antonio, Texas where they were at the time of his death. Ernie Lee will be remembered for his bubbling and fun loving spirit; always enjoying life to the fullest. Ernie could keep those around him laughing for hours having something funny to say all the time. He loved his family and considered spending time with them as top priority. Ernie loved watching sports and was a fan of all Oklahoma schools when they were playing; giving the edge to the Sooners over the Cowboys during Bedlem. Ernie also enjoyed playing golf and it could be emphatically stated that he didnÃt vote for our current President. You could safely say he was rather politically conservative. Ernie Lee accepted Christ as his personal savior while attending the the Western Heights Baptist Church and was baptized as a teenager; later attending the First Baptist Church and reafirming his faith under the guidance of Rev. George Boston. Later in life, while residing in Cleveland, Ernie Lee became a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland.
