Eric Jack Morris

Eric Jack Morris of Sand Springs, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the age of thirty-two. Eric was born on October 14, 1976 in Attleboro, Massachusetts; he was the son of Steve and Dorothy (Cote) Morris. Eric moved with his family frequently during his early education, attending school in New Hampshire, Kansas and Oklahoma. He later moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts for a couple of years prior to returning to Oklahoma. After obtaining his GED, Eric has been employed as a journeyman in the heat and air conditioning business for the past several years; working for Elite Heating and Air in Tulsa for the past three years. Eric enjoyed music and especially liked recording with his friend Brad. Additionally, he liked working on a Volkswagen with Chuck; they had recently completed chopping the roof and were continuing to customize it. One of his favorite bands was Blue October. He was described by his family and friends as a happy and cheerful person who would light up the room when he entered. He had an outstanding personality and will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Eric is survived by mother, Dottie and Chuck of Cleveland, Oklahoma; father, Steve and Cathy Morris of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bryan Morris of Elk City, Oklahoma and Jimmy Morris of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a parental grandmother, Virginia Brooks of Vermont. He was preceded in death by a brother, Corey Morris; grandmother, Alice Cote; grandfather, Fred Cote; grandfather, Jim Morris and a step-grandmother, Carrie. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel. Ericís cremated remains with be interred at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
