Emajo Head

Emajo Head passed from this life on February 21, 2024, at the age of 85, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Emajo was born on May 1, 1938, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bert and Dorothy May (Chandley) Casey. Emajo grew up and attended school in Cleveland, graduating with the Class of 1956. Emajo attended Oklahoma Baptist University for a year, then later enrolled in cosmetology school. After she returned to Cleveland on July 7, 1961, she was united in marriage to Donald Earl Head. The couple established their home in Cleveland, where they raised their son David. In the early 1970s, Emajo went to Drumright Vo-Tech and graduated with a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. Emajo worked at the Cleveland Hospital, Cleveland Nursing Home, and the Hominy Nursing Home. Many years later, Emajo worked as a private nurse for a select few people in the area.

Emajo enjoyed cooking and always enjoyed the family functions and church dinners. One of her favorite things to bake was sweets, especially coconut cream and lemon meringue pies. She enjoyed doing family genealogy and learning about her family's heritage.

Survivors are her son David Head and wife Dianne of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Caleb Head of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jordan Head and his wife Teresa of Bentonville, Arkansas; Logan Head of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Asher and Olivia and a host of other relatives and friends. Emajo was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Dorothy Casey, and husband, Donald Head.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Western Heights Baptist Church. A burial will follow in the Terlton Cemetery.
