Elsie May Thomas, a resident of Cleveland was born May 3, 1912 in Leland, Oklahoma to Napolean Sylvester and Edna May (Early) Allen. Elsie grew up in the Leland-Pawnee area she graduated from the Pawnee High School. After her education she worked at Ermieís as a bookkeeper. She was then united in marriage to Charles E. Thomas. They made their home in Cleveland after their marriage. Elsie gained employment with C.R. Anthonyís in the early 1950ís. Elsie continued to work for Anthonyís up until they made there move on Broadway. She then started to work at the Pawnee Health Center where she worked for many years. She was also active with the Hospital Auxiliary as one of the ìPink Ladiesî. Elsie was a tour director part time during her employment with the Pawnee Health Center. Soon after she retired Elsie began a full time job as a tour director until the 1980's. Elsie was a member long time active member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland until her health required a less active life style. She was also a Eastern Star Member, a great mother, wife and homemaker.

She passed away June 16, 2003 at Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years 1 month and 13 days. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, daughter Barbara Sue, 4 brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Ben and Bob 2 sisters Avis Garr and Elida Forbes.

Survived by her Son, Charles Thomas Jr. and wife Terri of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Mike Thomas of Haywood, California; and Charles L. Thomas of Cleveland, Oklahoma as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held June 18, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Woodland Cemetery Chapel officiated by Rev. George Boston. Burial will be at under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
