Elmer Ray Brown

Elmer Ray Brown, 66, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elmer was born January 19, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas the son of Martin Gilford and Roberta Modine (Scott) Brown. At the age of 12 Elmer moved with his parents to Henryetta, Oklahoma. Elmer later graduated from Graham High School and after the completion of his education he entered into the U.S. Army. After the completion of his duty Elmer returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma and accepted employment with a local paint supply store driving a delivery truck. Elmer then gained employment with Thomas Cadillac detailing autos and in 1993; he accepted a position with Evans Electric where he has continued to work until 2008. Mr. Brown enjoyed going and having garage sales. He also enjoyed spending his time fishing and wood working. Survivors are his son Ray Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, eight siblings Joyce Kaler of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Paul Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jack Brown of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Carol Morenos of Dallas, Texas, Bobby Brown of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jerry Brown of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Jane of Checotah, Oklahoma, Billy Brown of Texas, one grandson Carrson Lee Walters of Cleveland, Oklahoma. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Wanda Lou Brown. Chapel services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie White officiating. Burial will conclude in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
