Elizabeth D. Betty Coffey, lifelong Hominy area resident, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at her home in Hominy at the age of seventy-nine years, six months and twenty-six days.
Betty was born November 1, 1926 in Sacred Heart, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma to Thomas John and Ocie Elizabeth DeLonais. She moved with her family at an early age to Hominy, Oklahoma where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Hominy High School in 1945.
Betty was married to Eugene Willis Coffey in Hominy, Oklahoma on May 28, 1949. The couple had two daughters, Vicki Elaine and Elizabeth Gene. Betty was a faithful member of the St Joseph Catholic Church in Hominy. Her husband, Gene preceded her in death on October 2, 2003 after fifty-four years of marriage. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially loved watching her grandchildren play softball and baseball.
Betty is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Vicki Elaine and Keith Reagan of Jenks, Oklahoma and Elizabeth Gene and Randy Pierce of Cleveland, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Kristopher Keith Reagan, Lovell, Arkansas, Shelby Elaine Bacon, Jenks, Oklahoma, Matthew Allen Reagan, Jenks, Oklahoma, Valerie Ann Russell, Hominy, Oklahoma, Eugenia Elizabeth Maker, Hominy, Oklahoma, Christopher Kyle Pierce, Cleveland, Oklahoma and Samuel Eugene Pierce, Cleveland, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Elaine Bacon, Jenks, Oklahoma, Jeremy Ray Russell, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Hailee Mae Bacon, Jenks, Oklahoma, Sophia Grace Reagan, Jenks, Oklahoma, Connor Allen Reagan, Jenks, Oklahoma, Levi David Bacon, Jenks, Oklahoma and Bella DeLonais Reagan, Jenks. Oklahoma; and a brother, Joan DeLonais, Huntington Beach, California. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jessie DeLonais and a sister, Florine DeLonais Bolt.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2006 and a funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 am, Wednesday, both at the St Joseph Catholic Church in Hominy, Oklahoma with Father Bruce Brosnahan serving as celebrant.
Burial will be at the A. J. Memorial Cemetery in Hominy under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland.
