Eldon DeVree Trimble
Eldon DeVree Trimble , 93, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Eldon was born in Maramec, Oklahoma on December 30, 1922 to Lee Douglas Trimble and Retha Iness (Johnson) Trimble. Eldon graduated from Yale High School then entered the USNR in 1943. He trained in San Diego, California then went overseas and served in the South Pacific as an Aviation Ordinance Man 3/C Petty Officer. Eldon and five other men were selected to assist another unit in preparation of some top secret mines to be used on a mission. Upon discharge in 1946, Eldon returned home to Stillwater then moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma and joined his brother and his wife Maxine in a pastry shop business.
Eldon met De Etta Jean Wiles in Cleveland and they were married on August 8, 1947. Eldon attended Oklahoma A&M College then worked temporality at De Etta’s father’s grocery store in Cleveland. Eldon and De Etta and their two daughters, Sheryl and Judy, moved to Tulsa in 1951 where Eldon worked in data processing with Bethlehem Supply Company. Two sons, Eldon L. and Terry were born in Tulsa. Eldon was employed by Shell Oil Company and moved to Denver, Colorado in 1959. While in Denver, Colorado Eldon was an elder and served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Board at Arvada Christian Church. Eldon transferred to Houston, Texas with Shell and returned to Tulsa in 1964. Eldon was a contractor with American Aero Space for 19 months until he was employed with Sunray DX in 1966. In 1968 Sunray DX was purchased by Sun Oil Company and Eldon retired from Sun in 1983. After he retired and for the next 20 years Eldon did free plumbing and electrical work for family, friends and churches. In 2007, Eldon and De Etta moved to Broken Arrow to the home of his son Terry and daughter-in-law Teresa and their two children.
Eldon was a long time member of Woodland Christian Church in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his wife De Etta Jean, father Lee Douglas Trimble, mother Retha Iness (Johnson) Trimble, brother, Tilden LeRoy Trimble, sister Ruby Hadley and granddaughter Emily Trimble. He is survived by his four children Sheryl and Rick Bushnell of Joplin, Missouri, Judy and Richard Hall of Tulsa, Eldon L. and Amy Trimble of Tulsa and Terry and Teresa Trimble of Broken Arrow, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with the 12th expected in December.
