Funeral services for Edward Leon Treanor, 59, of Hominy, Oklahoma will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Calvary Woship Center with Rev. Kenny Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Ed was born on May 11, 1951 in Chandler, Oklahoma. He was the son Otis Everett and Wanda June (Messer) Treanor. Ed was raised in Kendrick, Oklahoma where he began his education. He later completed his high school and graduated with the Class of 1969 from Davenport High School. During his time in school Ed was active in baseball and football. Soon after graduation Ed joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Ed returned to Stroud, Oklahoma. He later moved to Cushing and then in the mid 1970ís he moved to Moore, Oklahoma. At that time Ed accepted employment as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base as an aircraft sheet metal installer. On December 30, 2005 Ed was united in marriage to Debra Jo (Thrasher) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ed continued working at Tinker until he retired in 2007. Ed loved to play cards. He especially enjoyed playing canasta, spade and scrabble. He felt that quality family time playing games was a very important part of family life. Ed also loved going on short trips; especially if it meant going to Loganís Roadhouse for dinner or lunch. Ed enjoyed spending countless hours reading the Bible as well as listening to Joyce Meyer. One thing that Ed took very serious was making sure his family was taken care of. He was a very dependable and responsible person who loved being around his family. Ed went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at his home in Hominy, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years with his family at his side. Survivors are his Debbie of the home, mother Wanda Treanor of Stroud, Oklahoma, three children Billy Treanor of Davenport, Oklahoma, Bobby Treanor of Denison, Texas, Linda Treanor of Hominy, Oklahoma; three step children LaDonna Shadlow of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Jimmy McIntire of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kyle Hopper of Hominy, Oklahoma; two brothers Robert Treanor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cecil Treanor of Stroud, Oklahoma; one sister Wilma Price of Chandler, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Graysen Treanor, Noah, Cloe, Caroline and Ryan Shadlow, Trinity Sloan McIntire, Raelynn Hopper as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and family. He was preceded in death by his father Otis Everett Treanor, one brother Larry Dean Treanor and a nephew Robert Treanor, Jr. Pallbearers will be Billy Treanor, Bobby Treanor, Kyle Hopper, Dillon Horton, Michael Treanor and Greg Treanor. Honorary Pallbearers will include Steve Thrasher, Larry Poteet, Albert Messer, Larry Orr, Robert Treanor and Cecil Treanor.
