Edna Janell Montgomery passed from this life on December 25, 2021 at the age of 70 in Cleveland, OK.
Janell was born on July 2, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the daughter of Kenneth Allen and Lorene (Thompson) Allen. Janell attended school in Cleveland graduating with the Class of 1969. Following high school Janell attended Wesleyan College in Bartlesville later transferring to St. Johns School of Nursing in Tulsa. Janell was among the last graduating class graduating with her Registered Nurses degree. Janell initially started her career in the emergency room at St. Johns. Janell was united in marriage on February 3, 1978, to Bill Montgomery, Jr. they made their initial home in Tulsa. Janell raised her family before returning to what she loved nursing. She began working again at the Cleveland Nursing Home. Then later started traveling to several different facilities returning them from deficient standards back to state approved standards of care. Janell worked doing that until 2012, when she retired.
Janell liked working on the computers, playing bingo and crocheting. She spent many hours reading novels and always enjoyed working and taking care of others. Janell always enjoyed being with her family and having her grandkids around.
Survivors are, one daughter Marsha Montgomery of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one son Ken Montgomery of Cleveland, Oklahoma, one brother Brad Allen of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two granddaughters RaeLynn Michelle Montgomery, Mallory Gwynn Montgomery, one grandson Liam Douglas Montgomery as well as a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill; sister Marilyn Blair and a brother Kenny Allen.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Edna at www.chapman-black.com.
